Dublin North East Sinn Féin -- Building an Ireland of Equals

Oppose the Drainage Scheme Folly!!

Published: 5 June, 2012

Last month the Greater Dublin Drainage Scheme announced three sites shortlisted for the construction of a controversial major sewage plant. One of the proposed sites is at Fingal County Council land on the other side of the N32 close to Clonshaugh estate.

Cllr. Larry O'Toole has raised the issue with Dublin City Council, requesting them to strongly object to this proposal (the plant isn't even intended to serve our homes) on the edge of our area.

It is unacceptable that Fingal Council feel that they can construct the treatment plant close to hundreds of homes in the Dublin City Council area.

It makes no sense either environmentally or logistically to build the plant at this proposed site. It is a waste of money especially in these financially straitened times.

Sinn Féin will vehemently oppose this development at Council and Government level.

Action groups have set up in the North County Dublin area to object to this proposal - so we need to stand up for ourselves on this issue.
