Dublin North East Sinn Féin -- Building an Ireland of Equals

Welcome for new sports facilities at Trinity Sports Club

Published: 18 October, 2006

Cllr Larry O'Toole has welcomed the start of building work at the site of the new Trinity Sports and Leisure complex in Donaghmede.

Speaking at the official sod-turning ceremony marking the beginning of building work, Larry said that facilities such as these were essential in the effort to provide young people with suitable activities away from drugs and anti-social behaviour.

"Trinity Gaels, as well as Dublin City council deserve great praise for this development. The finished club house and sports facilities will provide a hugely necessary outlet for our young people in particular. As someone who witnesses the scourge of drug taking and anti-social behaviour on a weekly basis, I am convinced that initiatives such as these are the best way to keep our young people active in a positive sense."
