Santry Stadium being supported as pre training centre for London Olympics.

Cllr. Larry O'Toole has welcomed Dublin City Council's support for Morton Santry Stadium in its endeavours to sell its facilities for pre-Olympic Training/pre games base for the London Games in 2012.

Cllr. O'Toole said "I welcome the efforts of the Dept. of Tourism, Culture and Sports' and Dublin City Council to include Morton Stadium in exploring ways to develop initiatives and opportunities across various sectors to capitalise on the London Games."

At Central Government level the Department of Tourism Culture and Sport is chairing a high level London 2012 co-ordinating group comprising representatives of the Arts, Sports tourism and cultural agencies.
