Older People Grants Delay Not Acceptable.

Speaking after receiving a City council report that new applications for Older Peoples Grants are not being accepted, Cllr. Larry O'Toole said, "This means that older people awaiting grants for adaptation of their homes, to cope with disability and infirmity, could be waiting for years (as it is there 2,900 applications awaiting approval) to have necessary remedial work carried out on their homes. This is not acceptable and I would urge the Labour Party/Fine Gael coalition who run Dublin City Council to ensure that the City Manager makes the funding available to deal with this urgent issue."
