A Voice For Young People!!!

Ógra Shinn Féin is the youth section of Sinn Féin, the youngest and fastest growing political party in Ireland.

Ógra gives young people a voice in Irish politics and a chance to work for real change for bettering our country and our world.

Ógra Shinn Féin is organising in Dublin North East. We invite young people between the ages of 16 and 29 to join us. We want young people to play their part by:

  • Building Ógra Shinn Féin in our area.
  • Supporting communities in local campaigns.
  • Helping to elect Larry O'Toole as Sinn Féin TD for Dublin North East.

We host video showings, organise weekend events and hold discussions with international speakers and senior Sinn Féin members. We also organise photographic exhibitions, sporting competitions and international solidarity trips.

We stand for:

  • Irish unity and independence

We want to see Ireland united and to establish a Republic worthy of the vision of the proclamation of 1916 which promised to "cherish all the children of the nation equally".

  • Socialism

What is socialism? It simply means that society should be organised so that everyone receives their fare share of the wealth in our country and that no-one should have to suffer poverty, homelessness, exploitation or ill-health due to inequality.

  • Equal rights

Everyone is supposed to have equal rights but they don't. Young people get exploited in low paid jobs. If you come from a wealthy family you will get a better education and a better job. We also support women's rights and campaign against racism. Ógra Shinn Féin is working for an Ireland of equals.

  • International solidarity

Young people are organising all over the world against the injustice of wars like the US-British war in Iraq, the Israeli war against the Palestinian people and against the exploitation of poor countries by rich countries which leads to famine for millions. Ógra Shinn Féin wants change for the better in the wider world as well as in Ireland.
